That makes sense. So you know for the future, USB cables are intended to be interchangeable, so if the ends fit, then the cable should work - and if it doesn't connect, it's almost always the cable. (That's a good way to troubleshoot connection problems with anything, if you can: swap out the cable to see if it's the problem.)
